Kids Eating Well

Nieslanik Beef Is Heading to School!

We’ve got some exciting news to share: Nieslanik Beef has officially joined Colorado’s new statewide Local Food Program!

This program, run by Nourish Colorado and the Colorado Department of Education, makes it easier for schools across Colorado to buy fresh, local food for their students. That means the beef we raise right here in the Roaring Fork Valley will now be on lunch trays in three of our local school districts:

  • Eagle County School District

  • Garfield School District RE-2

  • Roaring Fork School District RE-1

Why this matters to us

For our family, there’s nothing more meaningful than knowing the beef we raise here in the Roaring Fork Valley and Western Colorado will help nourish Colorado kids. These are our neighbors’ kids, our friends’ kids, and the next generation of our community. Being able to feed them something wholesome, raised just down the road, is something we’re proud of.

Good for kids, good for Colorado

When schools buy local, everyone wins. Students get fresher, high-quality meals. Local ranchers and farmers get to stay rooted in the communities they love. And the trip from ranch to cafeteria gets a whole lot shorter.

A big thank you

We’re grateful to Nourish Colorado, the Colorado Department of Education, and the school nutrition teams who work hard every day to feed our kids well. We can’t wait to be part of it.
